bourne made the trip to the Lincolnshire with a strong squad only missing the the enigmatic and mercurial Burgin . The Bourne side could not have had a better start as Elvis kicked a misplaced skegness pass half the length of the field which he chased down and recycled the ball through the backs for Binns to score in the opposite corner. try unconverted. Bourne kept up the pressure and kept their cool against a very aggresive home side and their composure shone through as Rob Coupland recieved a quick tap penalty into his hands and following a terrific lunge forced his way through under the posts to double the advantage. With this Skegness started to try and bully their way back into the game and followed up a penalty with a try both due to the visitors making silly mistakes and indisciplne starting to creep into their game. The second half started as the first had finished with everything going the Forwards , however both defences held firm untill with 10 minutes to go when the ever impressive Bourne Hooker Oglesbee won against the head on the home 5 metre line and after a couple of quick phases from the Bourne side Lunn burst through to increase the lead with Binns finally converting. From this point it was all Bourne and after winning another scrum the ball was picked up by Bournes number 8 Tom Bishop who picked up from the rear of the scrum and used his pace and power to put the game out of the reach of Skegness, Binns once again converted. This was a bruising game that was undoubtably won in the forwards with superb support from the backs when needed.
