Bourne made the short trip to Stamford to complete their First XV pre season on saturday once again having selected higher opposition to contest with.

As always between the 2 sides a tough but fair game was expected due to the special relationship the clubs have. Saturday did not disapoint as Bournes Forwards took the game to the home side despite struggling in the tight , the Bourne pack were showing their physicality in the loose winning turnovers and forcing College to concede a Penalty towards the end of the first half which Stand in skipper Binns put just wide of the posts. Stamfords Scrum rallied and forced bourne into some gamesmanship tactics to slow the game again. Bourne soon rediscovered their early form with the forwards continually securing the ball for the backs seeing the ball return to the mercurial weston to touch down in the corner , his elation soon halted as the whistle had blown for a dubious forward pass. Both sides changed things around after the break but the game continued with the same verve with bourne camped in Stamfords half yet unable to turn the territory into points. With 10 minutes remaining Stamford managed to break the resilient defence to close in on the visitors goal line and after several phases found the smallest gap to squeeze the ball down. Try unconverted. Bourne busied themselves in the dying minutes to no avail and the result confirmed.
