Bourne under 10's saw two matches against Southwell and Nottingham at Southwell on Sunday. The first game was against Southwell with a tight 1st half

Southwell 15 – Bourne 35

Bourne under 10's saw two matches against Southwell and Nottingham at Southwell on Sunday. The first game was against Southwell with a tight 1st half with very little between the two sides. The 1st try coming from Caleb Gadd after one of his many strong runs in both matches. There were a few changes for the second half, finding debutant Ben Latham having a strong performance in the backs. The bullish strength from Jacob Gadd gave his brother Caleb a second opportunity to run the ball across the line. Great support play from another strong forwards 'roll on' gave Jack Immink an easy run in to the line as his speed ran him clear of what had been a strong defence up to that point. Strong running from Ben Claydon gave Jacob Gadd another chance to score but was disqualified for a knock on. The game was swaying Bourne’s way as the forwards put pressure on every loose ball and eventually Matty Baker picked up a loose ball and carried two opponents over the line for a strongly finished try. The pressure was telling on Southwell as the team continued with pressure allowing a further 3 tries to be excellently executed by a storming Jacob Gadd. Bourne ran out deserved winners with a 35 - 15 victory.

Nottingham 15 – Bourne 15

The Nottingham game was a tight game throughout both halves. The Nottingham team had some fast backs that made Bourne’s defence have to work overtime to keep the game level. Ethan Hirst was the one who made the difference with his low driving position he drove over with a great effort from the team to ensure he was over the line. The half time whistle saw a tight 5 - 5 draw heading for an even tighter second half. The match was end-to-end for try scoring but Bourne were the stronger side going forward. The opportunity came again for Jacob Gadd who was having the game of his life running in yet another strong driving run to the line. Nottingham were quick to reply. So Bourne pushed hard to get near the opponents line. Quick footwork from prop Matty Baker saw him run through the defence to take the a well worked try. The team were unlucky to concede again to level the game at 15 - 15. Overall a great effort for the whole team with a standout performance by Jacob Gadd.
