Boxing Day match against Thorney

The traditional BRUFC v Thorney Boxing Day match was brought back to life this year.

Bourne were only just beaten by a side made up of Thorney, Spalding and Peterborough Lions players. We had all Bourne players, which was good to see. The ref enjoyed the game and said it was the best he had ever seen us play.

BRUFC President, Alan Thomas, reported that he had brought some friends along to the game and they thoroughly enjoyed the BRUFC experience, especially the bar prices!

He also said that the Thorney guys (old guard) were pleased the match has started back up again and he told them we'd see them at Thorney next year.

The match fees and donations raised £75. Thorney were given £25 of this with £50 remaining for us to give to a charity of our choice.
