The under12’s had their biggest test of the season at the Skegness Tournament

The under12’s had their biggest test of the season at the Skegness Tournament playing some really strong teams from Enfield, Mellish, Scunthorpe, Bridgenorth and Sleaford. As the tournament progressed the team got stronger in each game and made the opposition work harder each game after a slow start and some uncharacteristic sloppy phases of play. There were some excellent passages of play where all that we have been doing in training started to pay off and they all really grew as the tournament progressed scoring some very good team try’s. Ultimately the U12’s finished joint 5th overall after a draw in their final game.
Saturday night was Hawaiian party night with all the U12’s donning whacky shirts and really enjoying the night all together as a team partying all night!
What pleased the coaches the most was that all of the team played their hearts out for each other and finished the tournament with huge smiles on their faces after making some great memories together as a team and collecting their medals from British and Irish Lion, England and Sale Sharks back row Tom Curry.
The friendships and memories forged from a great tournament will stay with the team for all of their rugby playing lives with a positive focus on finishing the season strong.
