On Sunday Bourne U10s played matches against North Hykenham & Spalding at #thedrove. It was a cold but windless winters morning perfect for games of Rugby. First up for Bourne were North Hykenham. The away team started strongly and with a well organised attack and quick passing were soon in front. After a break for half time and a morale boosting team talk Bourne came back into the game and had some good passages of play but at the final whistle the game was North Hykenham's.
Next up were Spalding, Bourne started quickly and were soon in front, the team had more zip about them and their passing and support play was much better. They were first to the breakdown and this was reflected in the score line. At the final whistle it was Bourne who were in front.
Well done to all the players who even in the cold conditions gave 100%, it was great to see the team playing as a team and the importance of support play drills from training being put into practise in a match environment. The player of the match was Jacob, a great all round performance and an amazing solo effort try. The U10s are training next weekend before away matches against Sleaford the weekend after
