On Sunday the U11s made the short trip south on the A15 to Deeping to play against a combined Deeping/Peterborough Lions team. As the team warmed up the wind blew and it was clear that their handling skills would be put to the test. With a traveling squad of twelve this allowed for rolling subs during the match. Our opponents were quick of the mark taking an early lead. Bourne regrouped and soon the scores were level again. Both teams were quick to the breakdown and there was some great contests and turn overs in the difficult conditions. By the time the final whistle blew the score didn’t matter as everyone had seen a great game of rugby. We might of edged it by one score but nobody was counting. Rugby was the winner! Thank you to Deeping for being such welcoming hosts and we look forward to welcoming you to #thedrove for the return fixture on March 1st. This coming Sunday the U11s are off to the Kesteven Festival.
