Well it was a wet and rainy start to the day today, despite this I was pleased to see a positive turn out of the under 10s. Jude took on the role of captain and played his best game to date. Spalding was a strong side and brought a large team of players who performed marvellously. The game was played at a good pace with very few handling errors or knock ons from either side. Both teams conducted themselves superbly with some big tackles going in and great support for the rucks. Areas for improvement related to ensuring both hands are on the ball when carrying, ensuring it is held close to the body. Spalding managed to turn the ball over a few times by ripping the ball effectively. Bourne are really effective when momentum stops and a ruck is formed and this should be used more with good angles and passing. Although everyone played really well, Alex deserves a mention because of his consistency over the season and solid performance today, as does Oakley and Harry who both dug deep and made some impressive runs. Sophia had some cracking runs and some decent tries were scored. Player of the match went to Jude, it was his best performance all season, ensuring he didn’t let go when getting a tackle in, committed running and clearing of the rucks. Well done Bourne under 10s, thank you to all the parents for their support ?
