Terrific last game of the season for the under 11s what turned out to be a close match. We started off slow as is customary for us, getting a feel for the opposition resulting in us being on the back foot for the first half. We were down 1 try to Peterborough’s 3. Half time and the gears changed to us applying pressure from the off, chasing hard and getting tackles in as early as possible. Some fantastic ruck play, helped with many a turnover in our favour. The pressure resulted in the opposition fumbling and knocking on the ball in our favour which we took advantage of, resulting in fantastic runs and tries by Sophia and others. It was awesome to see support play, notably by George. Some fantastic tactical kicks were made in the game to relieve the pressure and gain some well needed distance between our try line. Overall it ended in a draw, 6-6 . This was an awesome result considering we lost to them the last time we played. The Peterborough coaches were complimentary, stating they have only lost one game this season. Hence, I will chalk this down as a win, a win for both teams who conducted themselves awesomely, especially in light of how hard the ground was today. Player of the match has to go to Sophia who made some awesome runs and vital tries to keep Bourne in the game.
