The U11s travelled with 11 players to sleaford rugby club for four games against Sleaford A&B and Weybridge A&B. In the 11 who attended were 3 new players that had never played in a competitive game - Caitlyn, Flynn and Henry. Also Frankie returned after he had his appendix removed.
In the first game vs Sleaford the team fought hard throughout the game and showed great skill in rucking scrumnaging and tackling against some strong and fast sleaford players. With determination, some individual brilliance and a great team effort we came back to grab a draw after being 6 - 3 down. The team was on a high. Unfortunately due to the physicality of the game we lost Annabelle to a knee injury and although Frankie pretty much came through the match which is great news he however, he had to leave.
In the second game vs Weybridge A and the third game vs Weybridge B unfortunately we lost both by 4-0. With 9 players the team worked extremely hard for each other and all gave there best however, injuries to ALL some worse then others meant that we became depleted and carrying knocks in these games.
Due to the injuries in particular we decided as a group it would be better to finish with a smile and worthy pat on the back.
As coach for the day I would like to say well done to all the players. I believe they all learnt something, gained confidence and as I said left smiling.
